Dave is a Partner with Recruiting in Motion. He has been working in the recruiting industry since 2003 where he held progressive roles over a 9 year period with a large multinational firm in contract and permanent recruiting.
Prior to entering the recruiting field, Dave started his career in the audit practice of a Big 4 public accounting firm. He moved on to become Controller of an investment holding company with several public entities. In his next role, Dave worked in institutional equity research with a large global investment bank covering the telecom, software and IT services sectors.
Dave takes a direct and down-to-earth approach with his clients and candidates. He believes building long-term relationships and providing value-added service in a collaborative manner is of paramount importance.
Outside of the office, Dave and his wife run a charity that provides assistance to tsunami-affected kids in Sri Lanka. Initially they ran a sponsorship program for the children and have now built a new school in the community.
Dave obtained his Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University and also holds the Chartered Accountant (CA) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designations.
- Dave is a devoted attendee of the Hillside Music Festival each summer and stubbornly lives in the past by eschewing iTunes purchases in favour of the traditional shiny CD…which he immediately burns onto his iPod.
- He has been an avid traveller who has backpacked to over 30 countries. As the father of two young boys, Dave’s idea of a dream vacation now consists of lying very still with a cold drink close at hand.
- Dave stands 5’8” but this is primarily torso. While his short legs dashed his hopes of becoming an Olympic sprinter, they are highly beneficial when crammed into a seat on an airplane, in the stands of a sporting event or at the theatre.
- Dave has an aversion to any liquids or food bits on his kitchen countertops. During meal prep time, he adeptly switches between cooking and cleaning up any mess created by his wife (much to her displeasure). On a similar note, the Vegas odds of him owning a dog that sheds are 10,000,000 : 1.
