Tom is a Recruitment Consultant at Recruiting in Motion. He made the move into the exciting world of recruiting after working for several years at both a small and a mid-sized international public accounting firm and he hasn’t looked back.
His core value is honesty – A trait that gives both his candidates and clients a sense of comfort when dealing with him. His favourite parts of the job include consulting up-and-coming accountants on possible career paths, talking about the current state of the market over cappuccinos, and working with clients to help them develop the criteria that will land them the right person for the job.
Outside of the office, you’ll find Tom jamming on his guitar, on the couch watching the Leafs, or being chased by dogs off their leashes in the park during a run.
Tom graduated from the Master of Management and Professional Accounting (MMPA) program before going on to obtain the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation in 2013.
- Tom has been playing the guitar for 15 years and has been in numerous bands. The highlights of his music career include playing the Opera House (the same stage where he’s seen some of his favourite bands play) and recording a full length album. This pursuit allowed him to live his dream of stage diving mid-guitar solo, much to the dismay of the unlucky guy in the audience that ended up breaking his fall.
- Tom has absolutely no flexibility in his ligaments. Despite this, he refuses to do yoga, stretch or play pickup sports at anything less than 100% intensity. As a result, any sporting activities that he engages in often result in some sort of injury. Luckily, his girlfriend always has a first aid kit and ice pack waiting for him when he gets home.
