Over the past 20 years, the tri-city region of Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge has been home to one of the most iconic names in the technology industry; BlackBerry, formally known as RIM. Recently, another “RIM” has moved into the region (not related to BlackBerry) and is starting to make its presence known in the local business community.
Unlike the smart phone company, this new RIM is an acronym for “Recruiting in Motion”. With a corporate head office in Toronto, Recruiting in Motion is a unique recruitment agency that specializes in the placement of permanent and temporary employees, and consultants, in professional service roles across all industry sectors. RIM currently has 6 other locations across the country and has plans to grow into additional major markets nationwide.
In 2010, the organization introduced their exclusive “Visual Advantage” system. Developed in-house, this system allowed employers to view a video-clip of a short-list of recruited candidates along with a personal profile and resume for each candidate. This unique way of presenting candidates greatly shortened the hiring cycle for prospective employers, saving them time and money.
RIM’s newest office, located in one of Cambridge, Ontario’s most well-know and majestic heritage buildings on the Grand River (the former Galt Library), promises to be another tri-city success story. Serving the local community, RIM-KW intends to embrace its local roots and work closely with business owners throughout the region to provide unsurpassed service and technical expertise. Their experienced recruitment team are extremely well-networked and have already begun to provide the surrounding communities with well-matched individuals in the areas of: Finance/Accounting/Tax, Administration, Human Resources, and Operations. The company’s friendly, open-door policy has already attracted many new clients who view the Recruiting in Motion business model as a welcome change to the potentially aggressive tactics of some other recruitment agencies.
Leslie Heathers is the Director of Placement Services at the Cambridge location, and she sums it up nicely; “We understand the needs of the local businesses because our recruiters are all from the region. The businesses that we assist are not just our clients, they are our friends and neighbours and we stand by each and every placement we make with a 100% guarantee!”.
What more can be said, except; “There is a new RIM in town; welcome to the neighbourhood!”
